After 12 years in the concrete industry — from bridges and hydro dams to curbs, sidewalks, and everything in between — Derek Shields knows concrete. Promoted to foreman at just 22 and leading job sites by 24, he quickly built a reputation for precision, efficiency, and a no-shortcuts attitude.
Today, Grit Happens Conctrete brings that same work ethic to residential spaces — crafting stamped patios, driveways, walkways, and concrete slabs that don’t just perform, but elevate your home’s exterior.
